The Royal Danish Academy SS24 at Copenhagen Fashion Week

The Royal Danish Academy SS24 Spring/Summer 2024 Collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week

As the second group to graduate from the Royal Danish Academy’s new radical Master’s program in Fashion, Clothing, Textile: A New Landscape for Change, these new talents are showcasing dynamic and captivating ways of pushing sustainability within fashion. They represent the new voices bold enough to challenge the status quo and the systems of consumer growth that have lead such irreparable damage to the environment.

The new MA program intrinsically links core sustainability values with strong Danish design aesthetics and tradition. These values are where the graduates start their design process from. Making sure the sustainability goals are reached by the year 2030, these graduates will sit at the forefront of the sustainable movement. Accumulating all they learned throughout the MA education, students have gathered the values of wardrobe circularity, sustainability and change through collaborations, the graduates’ work embodies all these values in their final collections. Both in design and academia, the collections put forth are works that work within an Earth logic (where we put the earth first) rather than a consumer logic.
