TG Botanical SS24 Spring/Summer 2024 Collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week
TG Botanical Spring-Summer 2024 collection explores the frailty of being and the frailty of matter. The designer of the brand Tetyana Chumak sees beauty in destructive processes of nature and its eternal cyclicality.
The core of the TG Botanical SS24 collection is the styles chaotically stitched with an elastic thread; such pieces, according to the designer, remind the surface of Earth and eroded metal. The distressed effect brings an organic feel to each garment, enhancing its femininity, rooted in the architecture of a woman’s body. The fluidity of stitched styles make them look like they “live” on a body and are the one whole with it.
This deep connection to nature is traditionally reflected in the designer’s choice of materials. This season Tetyana Chumak uses certified batiste, cottons, silks, organic nettle and linens for kinetic skirts, cargo trousers, daring tops and dresses. For the very first time the brand introduces accessories to the collection, which are made of an old nettle cloth, sourced from local artisans. Nettle mules and mini-bag are produced in limited quantities.
The color scheme of the collection is earthy with bright brashes of ocher and cyan blue. The latter is brought to the collection with the old technique of cyanotype, which allows to reach the specific shade of blue as seen in this collection.
TG Botanical SS24 collection is an awareness of impermanence and transience of things and an attempt to capture a poetic allure of their passing.
