24FashionTV had a chance to sit down with a winner of Mrs Russian America 2021, a 30-year-old Russian-born Ekaterina Koltunova who is an acting student living in Los Angeles.
24FashionTV: Were you shocked when you won Mrs Russian America?
Yes I was shocked and I was very happy. It was like a dream. I saw people were standing, applauding and cameras were flashing. It was unbelievable experience, and I am very grateful that I have had it.
Was it your first pageant?
Yes it was 🙂
Were you nervous on stage?
Yes just a little, because the stage gave me an enormous adrenaline rush, and that definitely made me nervous.
Did you always want to be a model and win pageants?
I always wanted to be an actress, but I like modeling too, but I can say that I did not dream about being a model because I always thought that models should be very tall, and I am only 5 feet 6 inches. But now days fashion and views totally changed
What’s next for you in your career?
I would like to continue pursuing my career as an actress and I would love to play in theater.
What role do you think social network plays in the modeling industry?
It plays a huge role cause now everything comes from internet.
Do you think having a large following on social media helps to find more modeling jobs?
Yes I do think so. It is sad, but mostly companies want to work with people who are famous, so that’s why they can get more clients to their businesses. But I think when something goes from inside it will give you more values than just quantity.
What do you enjoy doing the most in your spare time?
I like to watch movies, listen to music and read books.
What’s your favorite place to travel?
I would love to see all the world and the top on my list are Singapore, Fiji island and Bali.
Can you tell us one interesting fact about yourself?
I don’t like glass noodles.
Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
I see myself as a successful actress, happy wife and good mother.
What’s your favorite designer?
Versace.
Do you have a favorite supermodel that you admire?
I like Naomi Campbell.
