Walk for Wildlife Raises $125K, Redefines Eco Swim Fashion

Sold-out Paraiso finale delivers recycled ghost-net bikinis, 97 % zero waste, and 22 M viral impressions.

On June 1, Paraiso Miami Beach erupted as Syrena Swimwear and VoLo Foundation unveiled “Walk for Wildlife,” an immersive runway that fused couture craftsmanship, live climate-data projections, and a rallying cry for biodiversity.

A sea-blue LED floor morphed into rainforest green as celebrity emcees Yohana Vargas and Pao Ruiz introduced 28 looks spun from recycled ghost nets, organic hemp mesh, and non-toxic dyes. Highlights included Vargas’s UV-shield coral-print rash-guard and Ruiz’s finale gown of up-cycled fishing line that shimmered under spotlights like bioluminescent plankton.

Impact at a Glance

  • $125,000 raised for VoLo’s Keys mangrove restoration and wildlife telemetry.
  • 22 million digital impressions in 48 hours on #WalkForWildlife, boosting SEO keywords eco-friendly swimwearendangered speciessustainable fashion Miami.
  • Zero-waste verified: 97 % of backstage material was composted or recycled, setting a Paraiso benchmark.

“Ethical doesn’t equal ordinary,” notes Syrena creative director Mila Miskovic. VoLo CFO Thais Lopez Vogel adds, “We turned hard data into an emotional experience—and action.”

Front-row buzz ranged from “Real Housewives” alum Kiki Barth to marine biologist Dr. Ayana Johnson, who called the show “proof aesthetics and evidence can walk hand in hand”, and multimedia artist Victoria Unikel.
